Halima Aden the Cover Girl for Inclusivity

It’s great to see gorgeous Halima Aden, the Somali-American Muslim model smiling on the front cover of Grazia magazine this month – braces and all! Halima has become a role model for Muslim girls with catwalk ambitions and who want to break the mould. She stands up for women of all religions whether or not they wear the Hijab.

For fashion to be liberating, the designer runway has to be a platform for projecting diverse men and women of all races and creeds. The fashion world with its collection of designers, stylists, make-up artists, models and hairdressers may be whacky at times but it has to be commended for being a melting pot of cultures, religions, sexuality and gender identity where inclusivity is essential.
